Nkosi sikelel’ iAfrika

I’m quite proud of my African heritage. I feel like I don’t talk about this enough and I want this to change. So here’s a little something about what occurred the other night and why I became emotional, like really emotional whilst listening to a song that means so much to me.
I couldn’t sleep and I thought it would be good idea to watch a film. In the middle of the night. My eyes were not pleased, but my heart was though. I decided to watch Invictus and oh my word, I was caught in proper emotions. Tears and all that.

It’s a real life story of the Rugby team winning the ’95 Worldcup after years of boycots and Apartheid. This draws the nation stronger to each other and everyone cheers on the national rugby team

The thing that particularly caught me, was the soundtrack. It was so incredibly moving and I just wanted to share original footage of the anthem in 1995. It’s so incredibly moving and I just wanted to share it with you all, because it’s awesome.
