MH Letter #9: An open letter to Laura

* Planning these series left me quite surprised with the amount of Laura’s and Lauren’s I know. Mad.*

“Dear Laura,

I wanted to start with a joke with Swift, but I’ll leave it be as I’m not funny at all. On a more serious note pal, you are one of the friends you could ever wish for and this letter is me trying to make it more clear and let all the whole world know – if they didn’t know already – what a special person you are.

We haven’t known each other for a long time, I think it was the #TalkMH chat about relationships where we first started talking and I’m so glad we did, you have been an amazing friend ever since. You have been there every single day for me if needed and that I appreciate so much. It feels like the dark world I live in sometimes, has become a little bit easier.

You are such a kind and gentle soul, it really has its effect on people you talk to. I know that especially Laura B. and Amy are so grateful for you every day and that you make the world a better place by breathing your kindness into it. Your care is unequalled and inspires us all. It’s so nice to see you always support others on here, even when you are struggling yourself. I think that’s so admirable.

I’m really proud of you, living with mental illnesses is not always that easy. In fact it can be very hard. But despite all the dark times, you keep fighting. You keep on confronting these illnesses and yeah sure, sometimes it will feel shit. But you keep trying it and that’s brilliant. You will get there! It’s like on my favourite quotes:

You are such a fun person to talk to, you are witty and funny as hell. You never fail to make people laugh and that’s a great quality to have, it seriously is. I love how we can talk shop; FOOTBALL. I love how we could both talk about how much we hate Chelsea haha. I love how excited you get when THE SPURS GO MARCHIN’ IN. I rate that. And you were the only who laughed at my terrible Diego Costa joke (Ask my personally if you want to know it readers)

You are very intelligent and loving, it’s fantastic. I want you to know that you are amazing to us all and keep on being you. Thank you for being you and being that lovely friend that supports me always. Thank you so much and keep shining you brilliant young woman. You deserve it!

your pal,
