An open letter to the lovely Bethany

” Dear Bethany,
Sometimes you meet people and you instantly click with that person. Everything is in tune and you just know that a great connection is born. Someone who’s going to be in your life for a long time and perhaps forever. Someone who’s there for you and you are there for them. A friend, a pal, a mate, a friend you love like family. It’s that feeling I got when speaking to you. I still get that and the world should know what a lovely human you are!

The brilliant thing about the mental health community is that we continue to support each other and share the love. One of my most admired friends is Rachel from and she recommended me to you. I’m really so grateful for Rachel and I’ve been admiring you ever since. I even debated whether I should message you on twitter, because I you were a true inspiration to me. I’m glad I did find the courage to start a conversation, because it has enabled me to a great friendship that we have.

One of the things that is incredibly amazing about you, is your blog. In this ever growing blog world, it seems hard to stand out. Everyone looks the same, blogs the same and deals with the same topics. At least I feel like that a lot of the time, but with your blog it’s completely different. Your blog is like a reflection of you – as it should be. It is honest, genuine, lovely, inspiring and motivating. It has inspired me countless times when I thought of deleting my own blog or social media accounts.

Another thing is that your writing stands out. I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by so many talented and creative blogger mates, but yours is one of the best I’ve seen. You genuinely know how to write stuff. Every word, every sentence is well placed. Every emotion or feeling is put in the right place. You have the amazing talented to find the right words and expressions with the right emotions and feelings. I can tell you as a writer of stories and as someone who did creative writing at uni, this is incredibly difficult. – I’m not sure if I’ve mastered that, but oh well. Swings and round-a-bouts.

Whenever I read something you’ve written, then I feel special. I know, maybe I’m just a nob, but your writing makes you feel special. It’s like you wrote that piece especially for me and that’s really great. I’m always a wee bit sad when the blogposts are done, because it leaves me with a void in life. I NEED MORE. But it’s a sign of your brilliant writing.
But above all, you are an extremely kind person. You are kindness personified. You are always so lovely and not just to me, you are so lovely to the whole online community. You have a pure heart, it’s so amazing to see and witness. You always go out of your way to help others and I’m tearing a bit up as I’m writing this, because you’ve helped me so much in the last few months. I can’t thank you enough for being the brilliant angel you are.

You are funny as hell, your tweets always make me laugh till my tummy aches and that’s so brilliant. You are an intelligent lass and let no one tell you different. You creative, passionate, inspiring and talented. You are beautiful, inside and out. You are literally a star, a shining light and your light makes all of our lives better and more complete.

You are honestly the most cute and sweet person alive and it’s pretty awesome. You have the kindest soul and everyone’s lucky to have you. You are honestly an inspiration to me as a blogger, but also as a person. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me and for others. We can’t thank you enough for being you.

You are an angel on this earth
Bringing love and light where ever you go
Spreading positive thoughts and bringing
Warmth to our lives
Your smile and eyes bring out the good
In every human being and I thank God
For bringing you in my life
I will forever cherish you
You beautiful diamond
Shine on
I feel so lucky to have you in my life and it really means the world to me. Our friendship is something that keeps me going on dark days and keeps me sane. It’s so amazing to have such a great friend like you Bethany, you are like a big sister to me. I just know that one day, we will meet when I come to Edinburgh and you’ll get the biggest hug ever.

Never change. Never stop shining your light. You make our lives shine brighter. You make sure we walk this path of light and kindness. We’re not here to shrink into less, but we are here to blossom into more. And you my dear friend, make us blossom into beautiful flower we are destined to be. And for that, I love you.

Marc, you have this way with words, I don't really know how to describe it, but it is so wonderful, almost like I can feel your words. Never stop writing Marc!
